Story begins: A douse of double trouble is heading in your direction with these teamsters known simply as Joey Akles and Chris Fradkin take control when answering these alignment of questions. Record Crowds for The Buckinghams at the Kane County Fair

SERVING THE TRI-CITIES AND KANELAND Kane County Fair enjoyed record crowds By ERIC SCHELKOPF – eschelkopf@kcchronicle.com ST. CHARLES – Fair officials attributed good weather and bargain entertainment to this year’s record crowds at the Kane County Fair. The fair, which ran from Wednesday to Sunday, attracted 151,975 people, up from 130,000 people last year. “We didn’t have any big storms for the week,” said Floyd Brown, advertising and promotions director for the fair. “The showers we had were short-lived.” The music arena also enjoyed overflow crowds because of bands like American English and The Buckinghams, Brown said. All the thrill shows played to full houses, Brown said, such as Saturday’s rodeo and Sunday’s demolition derby. A record 36,230 people attended opening day, where fair-goers were admitted for the discounted fee of $1. Regular admission to the fair was $5. “Because of the down economy, people are looking for bargains,” Brown said. “A family could control their costs

The Buckinghams take the stage July 18 July 12, 2009 The Buckinghams, one of Chicago's most successful 1960s groups, will perform in concert at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 18, on the Miller Lite Sound Stage at this year's Kane County Fair in St. Charles. These Chicago natives rose to the top of the music charts with their No. 1 hit "Kind of a Drag" and haven't looked back. Playing to sell-out crowds across the nation they entertain with their string of hits. Chart busters like "Don't You Care," "Hey Baby They're Playing Our Song," "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy," and "Susan" make each concert an evening of memories. In the 1960s the band was at the forefront of a musical style that has come full-circle. Today, The Buckinghams blend their original hits with others made popular by Blood Sweat and Tears, Chicago, the Spencer Davis Group, James Brown, Three Dog Night, Billy Joe Royal, and Motown's biggest acts.
