Tuesday, August 31, marks the exciting long-awaited opening of musician Ron Romero’s dream: the Illinois Rock and Roll Hall of Fame . It’s located in the heart of Joliet, IL, at 9 W. Cass St. "On behalf of the entire Buckinghams band, original lead singer and founding member Dennis Tufano will be representing in the formal Hall of Fame induction ceremony," announced his friend and longtime fellow Buckingham, Carl Giammarese. "It’s poignant and so important that Dennis be there just as he was in the very beginning. The founding member we all considered the “heart” of The Buckinghams, John Poulos, and early founding member George LeGros as well as final founding member, Marty Grebb, are no longer with us. Dennis will share memories from his heart and will be wonderful in representing all of us from the beginning. He’ll also sing a few songs that evening," said Carl. Charlie was an important part of our many tours that include casinos such at the South Point Casino , Sun Coast Casino in Las Vegas, and the Golden Nugget clubs across the country. A brief summary of his career is found at celebrityaccess.com (Click here ). A second obituary on Pollstar notes that he worked with music icon Chubby Checker as his manager for over 30 years, and in his early 20s, he started out at road manager for Peter Frampton (see story here ). The Buckinghams Visit Charming Wild Rose Casino Nestled in Iowa

On Friday, August 20, The Buckinghams traveled to Emmetsburg, Iowa, a town of 3,670 people. It’s not widely known, but it is a sister city to Dublin, Ireland, which might explain some of the most popular travel sites there. You might be swimming or fishing at Five Island Lake, and there’s a lovely Kearny State Park. If you like bowling, visit the Shamrock Lanes, why don’t you? There’s a branch of Iowa Lakes Community College there. Most exciting among the sites to visit is the Wild Rose Casino! Here, some longtime friends and fans arrived early to greet the band. Located on lucky 777 Main Street in Emmetsburg, Iowa, The Buckinghams enjoyed so many friends and new friends coming out to see them. Here are a few photos Carl and friends took from Sound Check that afternoon. And may the luck of the Irish be with you all at the slot machines! Rocky in the pocket, just groovin' on a Friday afternoon. Nick says, "There's your tambourine, man.

Festival Time for The Buckinghams: Taste of Elmwood Park!

On Friday, August 6, The Buckinghams performed at the Taste of Elmwood Park! This was our first Chicagoland festival since the summer of 2019. What a magical night it was! We had a tremendous turnout! It was so great to see so many familiar faces, fans that have supported us for years that we haven't seen in a long time. Even our original manager Carl Bonafede showed up. It was great to introduce him on stage, Carl was responsible for our success in the early days. Unfortunately, we had to cut our concert short due to a storm that moved in, but we were able to get in 65-70 minutes. There is always something special about playing a Chicagoland festival, the atmosphere is electric! [Two of our Buckinghorns: Dan Moffett (L) and Chuck Morgan (R).] First I want to thank all of you for coming out and joining us. Next, thank you to the City of Elmwood Park. Murray Weiner and Jake Weiner for bringing us back after it was postponed last year because o

Summer Travels with The Buckinghams: Palace Theatre, Greensburg, PA

After a 19-month hiatus from road trips Carl Giammarese and Nick Fortuna traveled to Greensburg, PA, to join the Happy Together Tour 2021 in progress for the first of four dates this summer. These concerts had been originally scheduled for 2020 but we all know what happened to live music last year. This year, audiences have been even more effusive, excited, and complimentary about the chance to see live performances again. The familiar lyric from Joni Mitchell rings true: “You don’t know what you’ve got ‘til it’s gone.” (Joni Mitchell, “Big Yellow Taxi”). The lineup for this concert included The Turtles (Mark Volman and Ron Dante), The Association, The Buckinghams, and The Cowsills. Because the tour had to cancel their entire 2020 year, the Happy Together Tour is now in their 12th anniversary year, as the first 25th anniversary of the first tour was in 2010. Featured here is a series of songs performed by Carl and Nick at the beautiful, historic Palace Theatre, b

Sneak Preview of New Single from Carl Giammarese and Lisa McClowry

Especially for fans of The Buckinghams as well as song stylist Lisa McClowry, we’re excited to share a sneak peek of their latest vocal collaboration. A unique rendition of the sultry duet by Sting and Melody Gardot, “Little Something” is the latest launch by Carl and Lisa. You’ll recall this duo recently released a new version of a signature Buckinghams’ song, “Don’t You Care.” Fans embraced it a powerful remake of the James Holvay and Gary Beisbier composition, noting it brought new excitement and life to a beloved Buckinghams’ standard hit. Both composers both offered high compliments to Lisa for her unique arrangement and the blending of Giammarese and McClowry voices. Buckinghams'fans have embraced hearing Carl Giammarese’s full vocal range on contemporary songs. It's easy to forget his career success in the 1970s singing as part of a duo (Tufano & Giammarese) and 1980s work as a successful Chicago-based jingle singer. Lisa McClowry has found success and
