It says something about the power of pop music that a band can have a viable career more than 40 years after its salad days have passed. But like many bands from the 1960s who rocketed to fame and just as quickly faded into semi-obscurity, The Buckinghams continue to tour and attract audiences with nostalgic, feel-good songs.

A horn- and organ-driven Chicago-based pop act that scored a No. 1 hit in 1967 with the undeniably catchy, ruminative "Kind of a Drag," The Buckinghams will play a concert Saturday at Odell Williamson Auditorium. The show is a fundraiser for the North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce.
