Chicagoland Music Fave, Mike Bruccoleri, to Set Sail with The Buckinghams for Concerts at Sea 2022 Cruise

Recently, The Buckinghams were invited to fill in an opening on one of their favorite cruises, the Concerts at Sea , coordinated by longtime fan favorite producer, Tammy Selee, for Harmon Travel. When invited, Carl and Nick were delighted to return to see longtime cruise fans and friends who make these journeys extra special. However, as it turns out, guitarist Dave Zane had a conflict during that week at sea and would not be able to join the group for this event. Fortunately, music professional and friend well known to The Buckinghams, Mike Bruccoleri , was available and will be joining The Buckinghams for this event. Many of you already know Mike from his tour days with Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone, or as the bass player for Sonny Geraci's band, The Outsiders, whose band Dave Zane also played with for five years. Mike is also longtime friends with Bruce Soboroff and Rocky Penn, so he’s no stranger to The Buckinghams or their music. In addition, Mike and

Festival Time for The Buckinghams: Taste of Elmwood Park!

On Friday, August 6, The Buckinghams performed at the Taste of Elmwood Park! This was our first Chicagoland festival since the summer of 2019. What a magical night it was! We had a tremendous turnout! It was so great to see so many familiar faces, fans that have supported us for years that we haven't seen in a long time. Even our original manager Carl Bonafede showed up. It was great to introduce him on stage, Carl was responsible for our success in the early days. Unfortunately, we had to cut our concert short due to a storm that moved in, but we were able to get in 65-70 minutes. There is always something special about playing a Chicagoland festival, the atmosphere is electric! [Two of our Buckinghorns: Dan Moffett (L) and Chuck Morgan (R).] First I want to thank all of you for coming out and joining us. Next, thank you to the City of Elmwood Park. Murray Weiner and Jake Weiner for bringing us back after it was postponed last year because o

Intimate Dining and Fine Wine Concert—An Evening With Jim Peterik And Carl Giammarese

Don’t wait until “Later” to get your tickets for one of the best evenings of entertainment that’s perfect for date night. On Monday, August 16, hometown audiences will enjoy a great time with two of Chicago’s true gems in classic rock, Jim Peterik (Ides of March) and Carl Giammarese (The Buckinghams). Who better than these hometown boys to share music and memories from classic rock gems that Baby Boomers embrace still to this day? After a hectic weekend of trying to make everyone's summer vacation perfect, you deserve an evening out, just to kick back, take a deep breath, and restore yourself. Hit songs are Jim Peterik’s calling card, whether “You Wouldn’t Listen,” “Vehicle” and “LA Goodbye” by The Ides of March, cowriter of “Hold on Loosely,” “Caught up in You,” and “Rockin’ into the Night” (38 Special), “Eye of the Tiger” (Survivor), as well as collaborations with the Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson, among so many others. Carl Giammarese is the founding member of The Bu

Jim Peterik and Carl Giammarese Unplugged at the Genesee Theatre - Two New Videos

With everyone ready to return to entertainment as part of their "normal" lives each weekend in Chicago, the Genesee Street Cabaret offered trial programming to gauge the popularity of a safe, new way to enjoy live music. On May 1, 2021, they'd planned for a 6pm show for audiences to enjoy an acoustic evening with two classic rock favorites, Jim Peterik and Carl Giammarese, who are multifaceted professionals. Peterik, of course, is a founding member of The Ides of March, a talented songwriter, as well as a jingle composer. His 1970 song, “Vehicle” found its way up to #2 on the Billboard charts as just one example. Jim continues to be the pride of Berwyn, where he grew up. Beyond their legendary band of guys (The Ides) who’ve been as close as brothers through the years, Jim has also achieved national distinction and acclaim. He cowrote songs such as “Eye of the Tiger” and “High on You” with Frankie Sullivan for the band Survivor and “Hold on Loosely” with Don Barnes

The Buckinghams Dazzle at Dosey Doe

Guest post by Rhonda Brinkmann (originally posted on examiner.com) Concert by The Buckinghams, December 13, 2015 Rating:5-stars The Buckinghams gave a dazzling performance at Dosey Doe Coffee Shop on Sunday evening. The band—known by many folks for its powerful and unforgettable hits—delivered on familiar melodies, seamless medleys, original numbers, and holiday classics. The group’s music continues to offer the energizing beat and heartfelt impact that it has been imparting for over four decades. Despite the large crowd, band members created a strong personal rapport with the audience through humor and glimpses into their touring adventures. Faces across the room reflected the impact of the memorable tunes as most people sang along or swayed with the music. From the opening strains of “Don’t You Care” to the closing chord of “Kind of a Drag,” which brought the house down, The Buckinghams kept the crowd enthralled. Concerts at Sea 2015 Photo Sent in by David Cownie

It's always nice when the friends who sail with us on Harmon Travel's Concerts at Sea cruises take the time to send in photos. Here's one our friend David Cownie took, and the message he sent with it: We sailed with you guys and Paul Revere's Raiders in January, and then saw you in Daytona. The ship was the best, because we had a chance to hear about you as individuals and as a band. Your voices are every bit what they were all those years ago, and your talent continues to grow. Hope to see y'all in the Caribbean again.
