American Pop! Concert Review Sings Praises of The Buckinghams, The Box Tops, & Grass Roots in New Jersey

New Jersey music fans know and love the concert pairing in the American Pop ! lineup but this year's lineup was found to be exceptional by reviewers Marc and Carol, better known as Love Imagery. Concert lineup for Saturday, February 29th (Leap Day) at the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood, New Jersey, began with The Box Tops, then The Buckinghams, followed by the Grass Roots. The concert, offered by Paradise Artists, has performed in several venues around the country over the past year. The Buckinghams Included in Connie Szerszen's New Book

Connie Szerszen, Chicago's First Female Rock DJ on AM Radio, has a new book on the market, a superb collection of memories from her days at WIND-AM and WCFL-AM. Titled "Top Rock Girly Jock," the book is available both at her web site ( http://toprockgirlyjock.com ) and on amazon.com. Page 70 features a 1968 photo of Connie and Jerry G. Bishop with The Buckinghams during a personal appearance visit to WCFL. Connie will be a guest on WGN Radio's Steve and Johnnie Program, Tuesday overnight, October 27th/early morning October 28th and share her memories of 1960s Chicago radio, including setting several 'firsts,' which were actually written into the U.S. Congressional Record as the 1st woman with her own prime time show, AM radio, major market, and the 1st woman in America to broadcast "live" on an all-digital radio station. It's not every day that an aspiring young musician receives a Roy Smeck ukelele instead of a dreamed-about drum kit and is told that it would be great to learn music on the uke. The uke fell into the 'disdained' category and remained there safely until some 40 years later, a new appreciation for both the ukelele and a musician, Kharmachanic, who has mastered same was discovered on YouTube.
