Water: Daily, we all enjoy a priceless world commodity that we (almost) take for granted. As you took your morning showers, brushed your teeth, and had your coffee or hot tea this morning, thousands of gallons of pure clean water surged through the pipes of wherever you live. Across the country, 50,000 people who are members of the American Water Works Association helped make possible research and education in developing solutions to improve public health, protect the environment, and to managing and treating water to city-specific standards. Every day we’re alive means another day we are thankful for water.
As many of you know, The Buckinghams are often asked to headline fund-raising events for charities who want to increase awareness for their organizations and important causes. This year we are pleased to be participating in the 8th Annual Water for People Benefit Concert at 7:00 pm on September 26, at Evansville’s Victory Theatre.
“We are very excited to have both The Grass Roots and The Buckinghams perform this year at our event,” stated Duane Gilles, Water Distribution Manager for the Evansville Water Utility. “Proceeds from this concert in Evansville will help make a significant difference in the lives of people throughout the world. Even in our fast‐paced world of modern conveniences, approximately 6,000 people die daily of water‐borne diseases, primarily babies and young children.”
The Buckinghams are pleased to join with Duane Gilles and the Evansville Water Utility in this important event. We share the goals of the Water for People program, a key Indiana nonprofit organization ‘dedicated to providing support to communities for the development of locally sustainable drinking water resources, sanitation facilities, and health/hygiene education programs.’ We are proud to join their efforts to improve the quality of life for those in need.
Just talked to Duane Gilles, and he said Advance tickets are $25 per person, available at Evansville locations of Schnucks Supermarket, Old National Bank, Donut Bank, First Federal Savings, Home Building Savings, Don’s and Clayton’s Cleaners. The few remaining tickets will be $35 each at the door, but they're almost all sold. So act fast if you want to join us and the Grass Roots in concert for a great cause.
We look forward to seeing you there on Thursday,
